Ceramic Knife Honing Rod
12” white ceramic rod for honing and light sharpening. I recommend every kitchen have one of these to help maintain the edges of your knives without excessively sharpening and removing material when it’s not necessary. Using this periodically will keep you knives sharp and prolong the life of your edges.
I use these to sharpen and touch up all my knives. I do a cascading stroke count from 10 down to 1 stroke on each side of the blade. 10 stroke left side and then right. 9 strokes left and then right. And so on down to 1. Then I do 10 additional strokes, alternating sides with each stroke.
